In 2017, Hirschi built water cisterns and chicken coops in a small village outside Guanajuato, Mexico. This project provided a steady income for women in the village. They could sell, trade, and eat the eggs that the hens produced in these coops, which made it possible for hens to be protected from dogs, roosters, and other outside elements. The water cisterns provided rainwater fall off, and well water to be stored on someone’s property so that in times of a draught or well breakdown, they would have access to water.
