Sole Hope was founded in 2010 with the purpose and commitment to fighting foot diseases in East Africa. By educating communities, providing medical aid, creating jobs, and distributing shoes, they strive to eliminate the suffering caused by jiggers, a detrimental parasite, and to foster healthier communities.
Chad and Crystal Hirschi traveled to Uganda in 2019 and 2020; so, moved by this organization, Crystal Hirschi put her heart and soul into educating the public. In 2020, Crystal became the Nevada advocate, traveling all over Nevada and educating others about this debilitating sand flea, with the project of cutting out jeans pieces made from patterns that are later sent to Uganda and Africa and made into shoes. Crystal continues to be the Nevada advocate and has cut with the help of others- thousands of shoes for those living in East Africa.
